Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Macleod Trail Calgary (macleodtrailcalgary.ca).

Last updated: June 24, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Macleod Trail Calgary at macleodtrailcalgary.ca (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. About the service

Macleod Trail Calgary is a local business directory focused on the Macleod Trail commercial corridor in Calgary, Alberta. The Site helps consumers discover businesses and helps business operators manage or claim their listings.

Directory information may be pre-seeded from public sources and updated by business owners or administrators. We do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, or error-free.

3. Accounts and business claims

Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account.

If you claim or manage a business listing, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of that business. We may request verification before approving a claim or publishing changes.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, provided false information, or misused the Site.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for unlawful, misleading, or harmful purposes.
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Site except as permitted by robots.txt or our written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Upload malware, spam, or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Interfere with the Site's operation or other users' access.

5. User and listing content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content (including business names, descriptions, logos, and contact details), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and adapt that content for operating and promoting the directory.

You represent that you have the rights to submit the content and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

We may edit, reject, or remove content that violates these terms, applicable law, or our quality standards.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

We offer a Free plan at no cost and a paid Pro plan billed on a recurring monthly basis (currently $49 CAD per month, plus any applicable taxes). By upgrading to Pro, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method the recurring fee until you cancel.

Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. We do not store your full payment card details. Your purchase is also subject to the payment provider's terms and privacy policy.

Your Pro subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand. Fees may change with prior notice; any change applies to billing periods that begin after the notice takes effect.

You may cancel Pro at any time from your owner dashboard under Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period — you keep Pro access until that date, you are not charged again, and your listing then reverts to the Free plan with Free plan limits applied. Cancelling does not delete your listing or its content; Pro-only fields are hidden or trimmed to Free limits and restored if you upgrade again.

Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable and we do not provide partial refunds or proration for the remaining portion of a billing period. We may suspend or downgrade Pro features if a payment fails or is reversed.

7. Our intellectual property

The Site design, branding, software, and original content are owned by Macleod Trail Calgary or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission, except as allowed by law.

8. Third-party links and services

Listings and pages may link to third-party websites (for example, a business website or booking page). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

The Site may use third-party services for authentication, payments, email, analytics, or maps. Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Business listings are informational only and do not constitute endorsements, referrals, or professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Macleod Trail Calgary and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Site.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including certain consumer rights in Alberta and Canada.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising from these terms or the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alberta, Canada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
